Digital PR and marketing tools you need in your life

Content PR | Digital marketing | Digital PR
Back in 2010, the best SEO person I knew left the industry to write novels. One of his reasons was that keeping up with the shifting sands of digital marketing and PR had become nearly impossible.

And this feels true some days. So I’ve decided to curate this list of tools to help. I plan to add to this list over time, but for now, I'm kicking off with four of my favourites:

  • Search metrics: Domain authority is a great tool for judging a website but I don’t believe that, by itself, it’s fully functional. The Search Visibility tool in the Search Metrics suite is great way off adding more intelligence to your analysis, allowing you to choose the right link to improve a particular key word's SERPs result or simply decide the most influential place to place your next piece of content.
  • MissingLettr: Tired of writing simple Tweets that just trail your latest blog post or press release? Want to set up some tweets that promote the latest product you add to your website without any hassle? Feel like AI could do the job by itself if only you had the right app? It can now; MissingLettr will write those tweets for you and schedule them. How’s that for a robot taking your job?
  • FollowerWonk: Have you ever been curious whether your Twitter followers are in the US, UK or Timbuktu? Would you like to know the most influential person on Twitter with the word automation in their profile? FollowerWonk is the social analysis tool for you.
  • Unfollow: Twitter hates automation; well known fact. But sometimes it’s useful to be able to get rid of all the people you follow who don’t follow you back - all at once. This is where the Unfollow comes in. The only catch is that it’s only available as an iPhone app.

I’m planning to add additional tools to this list each time I spot one that I think you might like to know about. So, bookmark the page and check back every now and again to see how the list is progressing.

I think that, if he’d known about this tools back in 2010, my SEO friend would still be on the scene. I'm sure the world of novel writing has benefited from his defection though.
